Investor's Report Card ("we") runs investorsreportcard.com. This page explains what information we collect, how we
use it, and your choices. Questions: support@investorsreportcard.com.
What we collect
- Your account: your email address and password. Passwords are stored only in scrambled (hashed) form;
we can't see them.
- What you enter about your accounts: portfolio names and details (such as brokerage, account type,
money manager and, if you choose, the last digits of an account number), your name for reports, and the
balances, deposits and withdrawals from your statements. We use these only to build your reports.
- Your subscription: payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number; we keep
the Stripe customer and subscription IDs and your subscription status.
- Messages you send us through the Contact page: your name, email and message.
- Our mailing list: email addresses given to us when you create an account, request a free report
(such as from the fee calculator) or change your email setting, with where it came from and whether you
agreed to receive our articles and tips. The numbers you type into the fee calculator are not stored.
- Basic technical information that web servers normally record, such as your browser type and IP
address, used to keep the site running and secure.
Cookies
We use cookies only to keep you signed in, to protect forms from misuse, and to remember for 30 days how you
found our site (for example, a YouTube video, a search engine, or a link we shared). When you get a fee report
or sign up, we count it under that source so we know which of our videos and articles are useful; the count
doesn't include your name or email address. We don't use advertising cookies or cookies that follow you to other
sites, and we don't run third-party analytics.
How we use it
- To provide the service: your account, your reports and your subscription.
- To send emails you need or ask for, such as password resets and reports you request.
- To send our articles and tips only if you agreed to receive them. Every one of those emails has an
unsubscribe link, and you can also turn them off on your account page.
- To answer your messages.
Who we share it with
We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the companies that run parts of the service for
us, and only for that purpose:
- Microsoft Azure, which hosts the website and its database and sends our email.
- Stripe, which processes subscription payments.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
- When you delete your account, we delete your portfolios, statement numbers, reports, customer record and
subscription record, and cancel your subscription.
- Messages sent through the Contact page are kept as a record of support requests.
- Mailing list entries are kept after an account is deleted, so that your choice is remembered: if you
unsubscribed, we never email you marketing again. To have your address removed entirely, email us.
Security
The site uses encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are hashed, and each person's data is only shown to
them. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
- See and change your information in the app, and delete your account from Your Account.
- Unsubscribe from our articles and tips with the link in any of those emails, or on Your Account.
- Ask us for a copy of your information, or to correct or delete it, at
support@investorsreportcard.com.
Children
The site is for adults and isn't meant for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
